User Feedback

I got to watch a friend of mine register here yesterday and it was an enlightening experience. Actually, it went well and he said the site and registration process were pretty intuitive. I did get a couple of good suggestions from him, and a couple things just became obvious by watching him. For no good reason I was being pretty terse with the link descriptions in the navigation header, and I could tell that this lack of adequate description was not completely informing him of the links purpose. I've made them more descriptive now and given them all title attributes that are even more verbose.

He also got confused with the internal email system. When you first register and you go to your messages you arrive at an empty inbox. In the near future I'll set up a greeting email to provide new users with more information on how the site works. I think having a message in the inbox when you first register will also help make the message system a bit more intuitive. The lack of information -- which is what an empty inbox is -- is often times confusing.

In stupid mistake news I have been linking to the wrong email address for the last month in all the Pooln page footers. That's now corrected.
